All our wood is locally sourced from the work we do for the council and our domestic and commercial clients. Where possible, such as in woodland settings, we always leave timber in situ where it provides ecological benefits. As such the wood we sell is only the wood that we have to take away, making good use of a waste product. All our timber we sell is unseasoned as we do not hold any certification from DEFRA to say it is below 20% moisture content, the timber will need seasoning before burning.

The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) ensure lifting equipment is used safely and apply to all gear involved in lifting or lowering, including arborist climbing, rigging, and rescue equipment. Legally required under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974,
LOLER inspections confirm that equipment is safe, suitable, and correctly marked. A competent person must inspect climbing gear every six months and rigging gear every twelve months, with additional checks recommended after any suspected damage. Arborists and employers are responsible for ensuring all equipment is regularly inspected.
A LOLER certificate must be kept with the kit or accessible remotely and should include inspection dates, item descriptions, serial numbers, safe working loads (SWL), details of any faults, and the pass/fail status.
On occasions we come across a nice piece of timber, which we then process into boards. Either the client keeps them or they end up at our yard to be sold for furniture at a later date. We also have plenty of interesting pieces perfect for bowl turning.
Please feel free to call and we can let you know what timber and bowl blanks we have in stock.
Traffic Management Services
Tree pruning or removal often extends onto public highways, footpaths, or cycle lanes, requiring careful planning to protect both the public and our workforce. To support this, we offer a bespoke Traffic Management Service, including temporary traffic signals, full road closures, and restrictions on footpaths or cycle lanes. Our aim is to carry out all work in the safest environment possible. By managing traffic control in-house, we remove the stress of dealing with unknown third-party providers.
Our fully trained and experienced staff are happy to provide advice and can handle everything from permit applications to CAD drawings for local authority roads across Yorkshire, Derbyshire, and Lincolnshire.
